In 1918, Ford introduced its legendary line of F-series pickup trucks. Five years later, in 1953, Ford redesigned its truck line and began using model numbers in the hundreds. Hence, the original F-1 series became known as the F-100 series. But this classic pickup truck had more than a new name; it was also given a different look. The new grille, curved windshield, wider hood and windows gave the F-100 the handsome styling that is still sought after by antique collectors to this day. And the F-100 body featured bolted construction and a more rigid tailgate for sturdy and dependable performance.
